Family Support

1. Parenting Programmes

Parenting programmes delivered by School Street Family Resource Centre are designed to help parents who are experiencing high levels of stress when raising their children. The programmes aim to help families to build safe and nurturing relationships to make a strong foundation from which children can thrive.
The two programmes that we offer in this service are;

  • Parenting Under pressure
  • Positive Parenting
    Marte Meo
    This is a video-based supportive development programme that consists of concrete information for the support of children’s development in daily moments of interaction.

2. Baby Massage

Baby massage involves stroking your baby’s body to support the bonding between care giver and baby. It is a way of having regular time alone with your baby and can be very soothing for both baby and caregiver.
Meitheal
Meitheal is an early intervention, multi-agency (when necessary) response tailored to the needs of an individual child or young person.

3. Women’s group

The women’s group meet fortnightly during the winter months. Activities aim to meet the health and wellbeing needs of its participants. Activities include aerobics, arts and crafts, mindfulness and relaxation techniques.

4. Hiking Group

The hiking group meet at intermittently over the summer months. Hikes, include Bray to Greystones, Howth head etc. Hikes are organised based on the interest of the community.

5. Parent and Toddler Group

This group provides excellent opportunity for parents/guardians to meet other parents/guardians socially and for children to engage with their peers.  Activities in Parent/Guardian and Toddler group includes arts and crafts, song and play
